[Guide] Cannot Load Version.ini
The "Version.ini" error typically occurs when your computer or network is unable to connect to the patcher servers. To allow us to analyze the issue, please follow the instructions below.
Step 1: Open Command Prompt
- Press the Windows key on your keyboard and the letter R at the same time. A small box will pop up (this is the "Run" box).
- Type the letters cmd into the box.
- Press the Enter key. A black window (Command Prompt) will open.
Step 2: Check if You Can Reach the Server
- In the black window, type this exactly: ping cfph-down.game.onstove.com and then press Enter.
- You'll see some lines of text appear. Take a screenshot of this black window.
- Next, in the same black window, type this exactly: nslookup cfph-down.game.onstove.com and then press Enter.
- More text will appear. Take another screenshot of this black window.
Step 3: Share Your Screenshots
- Go to a website where you can upload pictures, like https://imgur.com/.
- Upload the two screenshots you just took.
- After uploading each picture, the website will give you a link (a web address) for each image. Copy these links.
Please share the image links. This will help the support team see if your computer can connect to the Crossfire PH update server.
